Dimitris Tsirigotis

Dimitris Tsirigotis is a lawyer; he has been working, for the last ten years, as a legal advisor, supporting companies and public bodies in the fields of personal data protection, internal control, corporate governance and ESG.

At the same time, he has an active participation in the research and preparation of technical and economic studies for the development of EPR schemes for certain categories of single-use plastic products (SUPs), for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/904 and the implementing greek law.

His interest in sustainability was first expressed academically, through the thesis he prepared as part of his first master’s degree (in Political Sciences of the University of Athens), where he examined the economic efficiency of law from the perspective of environmental legislation and the decisions of the Council of State.
Subsequently, through the postgraduate program in Climate Crisis at University of Piraeus, he had the opportunity to focus on topics such as Food Waste & Healthcare Waste Management and the application of ESG criteria, with the latter being the domain of his research and thesis.

In the context of this postgraduate program, he met Evi and Rania, deciding to jointly found Beak-on | The Hummingbird Project. Their shared belief that knowledge and awareness about climate change must be cultivated from the bottom up, in a simplified and efficient way, determined, from the very beginning, the central orientation of their venture.
